Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Beta draft. This policy describes how TruckScout works today. It is still being reviewed and may be revised before final approval. Business entity details will be added once confirmed.
This policy explains what information TruckScout collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the TruckScout website and app.
Information from vendors
When you create an account and use TruckScout, we store:
- Account details: your email address and sign-in information. Passwords are handled by our sign-in service, and TruckScout staff cannot view them.
- Google sign-in: if you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and, where available, profile picture with us. We don't receive your Google password.
- Truck profile: truck and operator name, contact email and phone, home city and ZIP, cuisine, website and social links, description, and preferences such as travel radius, maximum vendor fee, minimum event size and setup time.
- Readiness documents: files you upload (for example permits or insurance) and their expiry dates. These are stored privately and only your account can open them.
- Saved events and applications: the events you save and the status you set, such as Interested, Applied, Accepted or Attended. Applications themselves are made on organizers' websites, not in TruckScout.
- Post-event Log: sales, costs, fees, notes and travel times you enter after an event.
- Travel details: your saved truck location, any different starting point or arrival time you enter for an event, and the travel estimates we calculate.
- Messages to us: feedback you send and events you report as missing, with the page you sent them from.
- Support requests: anyone, signed in or not, can use the form on the Contact page. We store your name, email, whether you're a vendor or organizer, the topic and your message so the team can reply. To limit spam we also keep scrambled (hashed) versions of the sending network address and email for a short time. Support requests are visible only to the TruckScout team and are never published.
Information from organizers
- Event submissions: the details in the List your event form, including your name, role, email, optional phone, and the event information you provide.
- Abuse prevention: to limit spam, we keep scrambled (hashed) versions of the submitting network address and email for a short time. They are cleared periodically and aren't used for anything else.
- Public organizer information: we record event and business contact details that organizers publish on their own official websites, along with the page they came from.
Your personal contact details from a submission are never shown on a public listing. If a submission is approved, only the event details are published.
Usage and technical information
- Product analytics: we record actions inside TruckScout, such as pages viewed, filters used and events saved, together with a random session number and, if you're signed in, your account. We use this to understand which features help vendors. We don't use advertising trackers.
- Browser storage: your browser stores your sign-in session, the random session number, and the date of your last visit. We don't use advertising cookies.
- Hosting and technical logs: like most websites, our hosting and backend providers process technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested to run and protect the service.
How we use information
- To run your account and show events that fit your truck, including your Profile Match Score.
- To show deadline, document and post-event reminders inside the app.
- To calculate travel estimates and your private profit history.
- To review organizer submissions and contact submitters about their listing.
- To answer feedback, fix problems, and improve TruckScout.
- To prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
Sign-in emails, such as account confirmation and password reset, are sent by our sign-in service. TruckScout reminders currently appear inside the app.
What stays private
Your truck profile details, documents, saved events, application statuses, Post-event Log and travel details are private to your account. Other vendors can't see them.
TruckScout may show community figures for an event, such as typical results, only when at least five different vendors have logged that event, and only as combined totals that don't identify anyone. Travel times, starting points and routes are never included in these figures.
How information is shared
We don't sell your information. We share it only:
- With the service providers below, so they can run parts of TruckScout for us.
- When required by law, or to protect TruckScout, our users or others from harm or abuse.
Approved event listings, including the organizer's name and website, are public.
Service providers and third-party links
- Lovable (Lovable Cloud): hosts the website and stores account and app data.
- Google: provides Google sign-in if you choose it; Google Maps Platform calculates travel estimates from your truck location or chosen starting point; and Google Fonts delivers the site's fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers.
- Stripe: will process payments if paid subscriptions open. Subscriptions are not open today. TruckScout will not see or store your full card number.
TruckScout links to organizers' websites, application pages, Google Maps and Waze. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover.
Security
Access controls limit your private information to your own account, and uploaded documents are stored privately. Administrative access is limited to authorized TruckScout staff. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Keeping and deleting information
- We keep your information while your account is open.
- You can delete uploaded documents, remove saved events, edit your truck profile and Post-event Log entries, and clear custom starting points or arrival times yourself.
- Account deletion isn't self-service yet. To delete your account or other information, contact us as described on the Contact page.
- Organizers can ask us to remove a submission by sending a new submission with a removal note.
Children
TruckScout is a business tool for food truck operators and event organizers. It isn't intended for children.
Privacy questions and requests
To ask a question, see your information, correct it or delete it, see Contact and support.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. For important changes, we'll also let signed-in users know inside TruckScout.
